Rain finally pushed into North Mississippi during the overnight hours on Sunday. Some areas have received over an 1″ of rain through noon today. With an 80% chance of rain through Tuesday and colder weather on Wednesday the opening weekend of deer season is looking much better. Duck hunters can also breath a sigh of relief. Most leases with pumps avaliable have them already running and the rain will only help to saturate the dry ground.

I did hear of a few ducks already setting on some the flooded fields in Tallahatchie County this weekend. With a influx of colder weather and rain more should push into the area before the season opens up following Thanksgiving.
