commercialappeal.com - Ducks flood club fields
November 28th, 2005From the Commercial Appeal:
Hunters spent much of the late summer and early fall burning expensive diesel fuel to manually pump well water into rain-starved fields in preparation for migrating ducks. Last week, the hard work and high fuel bills finally paid dividends as many hunters experienced excellent opening-weekend hunts.
“The bottom line right now is if you have water, you have plenty of ducks,” said Justin Carrington, a Memphis resident who hunts near Wynne, Ark. “The whole state is dry, and the ducks just don’t have too many places to go. That makes the few places with water that much better.”
