I was very fortunate this past weekend to have the opportunity to visit Top Water Lodge in Cocodrie, LA with some of friends and coworkers. This place was great, not only did we catch a lot fish, but we had a great time.

We piled up the reds on Saturday and limited out on Speckled Trout on Sunday. John and Bryce did everything they could to make us feel at home. We had great food, great fishing, and a great time.
I have been hunting some pretty nice deer around my house most of the year. A bow malfunction cost me a nice buck back in October, but I was able to bag the a nice buck by bow this morning.

No I haven’t had much luck this year. Haven’t hunted to many ducks and have wasted countless hours on my deer stand waiting for the perfect buck. But here are a couple of pictures of some nice hunts:
Jimmy Baker killed this massive buck. It had 63 points, before I get a bunch of emails I haven’t seen the deer only pictures of it. Several of the guys I work with have seen it and say it is for real. I don’t know how many points are scoreable.

The start of the 2007-2008 MS Duck season is closing in and Deer season for youth opens tomorrow. Unfortunately for many of us duck season will open without a bang unless we get a lot of rain. On the other hand the weather has been pretty nice for late season bowhunters, and I am sure many youth hunters will be loading up in the morning.
